How to Create an eSports Team Logo in GIMP (2018)

In this tutorial from our GIMP YouTube channel, you’ll learn how to create a professional looking team logo that can be used for eSports teams like Overwatch, Dota 2, Call of Duty, StarCraft, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Major League Gaming, Smite, Heroes of the Storm, and more!

This graphic design tutorial is great for beginners wanting to learn GIMP 2.9.8 (though you can also follow along with this tutorial using earlier versions of GIMP). You’ll learn how to use the text tool, alpha to selection, gradient tool (blend tool), rotate tool, shear tool, and how to create outlines for your text and shapes.

GIMP, which stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program, is essentially the “Free Version of Photoshop,” as I like to call it. It is a a great raster-based program for photo editing and graphic design.
